WHY WE DO IT:
Feeling empowered often comes from empowering one another. Building a community where everyone around you wants you to win. When one wins, we all win. Strive High is about more than just physical fitness. It’s about learning skills to gain control of one’s mind, emotions and life! Being a teenager can be hard. We all struggle. We all hurt. We all have insecurities. It’s normal at any age to feel lost, lonely or insufficient. There’s no school subject that teaches you the tools to change your mindset and to let you know your struggles are normal. It’s easy to get wrapped up in trying to imitate the latest trends at school or in comparing ourselves with those we follow on social media. But at Strive High, we provide a fun and supportive community where girls can be themselves and decide how they define their own success. Physical fitness mixed with mindfulness, improv games, team building skills, goal setting activities and journaling, has proven time and again to be an amazing way to feel grounded and in control. At Strive High, you’ll find a group of like-minded, supportive, and strong women in your corner; your tribe! You’ll find a family of sisters who truly have your back, no matter what. Let’s face it, there are some days when you just need people who can let you know that you are loved beyond measure. At Strive High, that’s everyday!
WHAT WE DO: At Strive High, we cultivate a spirit of mindfulness and well-being through physical fitness and friendship. We empower one another and in return feel empowered. We begin each week with a thoughtful mantra for the kids to keep in mind. Each class begins with a moment of reflection and meditation, then we set off on our 30 minute run/workout depending on the day. We listen to our bodies and become in tune with the world around us. After our workout, we gather in a circle to engage in goal setting activities, improv games and team building exercises. When we are able to be real with one another and be our authentic self we are able to open portals of change. We talk openly about the struggles of the week, and share inspirational stories and quotes. There will be time for journal entry, meditation, reflection and plenty of space to release the stresses of the week.
